Dr. Tamunobelema Solomon is an environmental health professional, researcher, and educator with expertise in wastewater-based epidemiology, environmental compliance, and public health surveillance. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioenvironmental Science from Morgan State University, where his research focused on wastewater monitoring of respiratory viruses — including influenza, RSV, and SARS-CoV-2 — to support public health decision-making and disease surveillance.
Dr. Solomon has extensive experience in environmental management, hazardous waste compliance, and public health preparedness. His work integrates environmental science, epidemiology, and data analytics to address complex public health and environmental challenges. He has contributed to research on pathogen surveillance, climate-health interactions, and environmental risk assessment, with a particular interest in developing innovative approaches for early disease detection and prevention.

Dr. Nwaubani brings extensive expertise in environmental microbiology, wastewater-based epidemiology, and public health surveillance. His multidisciplinary research integrates environmental science, microbiology, epidemiology, molecular biology, and data analytics to address complex public health and environmental challenges — contributing to pathogen surveillance systems, environmental monitoring strategies, and evidence-based approaches for infectious disease prevention and control.
His research spans wastewater surveillance of emerging pathogens, environmental risk assessment, climate-health interactions, environmental virology, and microbial source tracking — with a strong focus on utilizing wastewater-based epidemiology as an early warning system for disease outbreaks. He also holds expertise in bioremediation, food microbiology, and One Health approaches, and is committed to developing innovative strategies for early disease detection, outbreak preparedness, and environmental protection.
Public Health Researcher, Clinical Microbiologist & Health Science Educator
Dr. Ononogbo is a public health researcher, clinical microbiologist, and educator with more than 18 years of experience in teaching, laboratory science, research, and applied public health practice. She earned her Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from Morgan State University and brings multidisciplinary expertise in public health workforce development, infectious diseases, maternal and child health, environmental health, and community-engaged research.
Her work integrates microbiology, epidemiology, health education, and population health research to address complex public health challenges. Her doctoral research contributes to global public health workforce development by examining how professional expertise, mentorship, institutional support, and professional identity can strengthen the integration of health professionals into public health practice.
Dr. Ononogbo’s research interests include maternal and child health, infectious disease prevention and surveillance, environmental health, social determinants of health, autism spectrum disorder, healthy aging, and dementia. Her applied public health experience includes work with the Maryland Department of Health’s Infectious Diseases Bureau, the HBCU Alliance Team for Maternal and Child Health, and the Association of State Public Health Nutritionists. She is also a member of the Maryland HIV Planning Group, contributing to stakeholder engagement and HIV prevention and care planning in Maryland.
